Watch this video and learn from Carlos 1 of the most important roles of a good rowing coach.
Carlos Dinares explains in this video why he believes having a coach is important. Good coaches need to have many skills and he points at one that for him is key, the ability to motivate and walk through the unknown with the rower giving him guidance and confidence. Carlos describes rowing as one of the more painful sports on a daily basis. The load, intensity and sacrifice that are experienced every day in rowing to achieve your best are just huge. Carlos knows that only athletes fully commited to the pain and with the ability to dig deep to their real limit every day can achieve excellence in rowing. The levels of pain and physical exhaustion that Carlos has seen in athletes in North America is just amazing. He believes that rowers in North America work harder and are more commited than any other rowers he had ever had the chance to work with. This is one of the big reasons why Carlos enjoys coaching in America.
