How I help

Your priorities.
A clear voice.

For a complex, high-value home project, your interests need consistent attention. I help ask the hard questions, clarify the numbers and decisions, and follow through with the team—through Meade Building.

The homeowner’s perspective

Your priorities.
A voice in the room.

A project can move quickly while the homeowner’s original goals become less clear. I take time to understand what matters to you, then bring that perspective back into the conversations where decisions are made.

Understand the result you want

Clarify how you want to use your home, the details you care about, and the trade-offs you want to understand.

Ask the difficult questions

Speak up when a recommendation, an unanswered question, or an assumption needs a closer look from your perspective.

Keep the decision connected to the goal

Help the owner, designer, and builder clarify the options and record the direction that was agreed.

What this can produce

A short record of priorities, decisions, and questions for the team.

02

Budget clarity

The budget.
And the explanation.

A spreadsheet is useful only if the owner can understand the current position. I help bring the information together and follow up on the explanation behind the numbers.

Understand the current position

Separate actual costs, commitments, projected remaining work, allowances, and available contingency where those figures are provided.

Follow the changes

Ask what changed since the prior update, what caused the change, and what decisions or approvals are still needed.

Bring open questions to the right person

Track missing information and follow up with the builder, bookkeeper, or relevant team member so the owner can review a coherent update.

What this can produce

A plain-language budget explanation and a clear list of unresolved cost questions.

03

Communication & accountability

A conversation becomes
a next step.

Meetings should leave the team with a shared understanding of what was decided and who is responsible for the next step. I organize that record and bring the open items back into view.

Write it down

Create meeting summaries that separate decisions, actions, responsibilities, and unanswered questions.

Make timing visible

Connect decisions, selections, lead times, and trade visits to the next activity. Ask for dates and make dependencies explicit.

Follow up consistently

Return to unresolved commitments, share the answer, and update the record as the team provides new information.

What this can produce

Meeting notes, a decision record, an action list, and an agreed update rhythm.

On Vashon Island

A local connection.
A homeowner’s eye.

Local presence gives the conversation context. Within the agreed scope, I can stay connected with the site and team and notice the things a homeowner would reasonably care about.

Keep the client connected

Coordinate agreed conversations and site visits, gather questions, and bring relevant observations back to the team.

Look at the care being taken

Raise questions about organization, protection of materials and finished surfaces, access, and respect for the homeowner’s property.

Carry the details through

Keep outstanding selections, completion questions, and agreed follow-up items visible as the project approaches closeout.

What this can produce

A record of agreed site observations and follow-up items, connected to the project team.

A clear working relationship

A useful role starts
with clear boundaries.

This service is provided through Meade Building. We agree what Carlos will do, who receives information, how questions are escalated, and how the work fits the existing project team.

Owner-focused support.

The role centers on the homeowner’s priorities, communication, budget explanations, decision tracking, and coordination agreed for the project.

The builder leads construction.

The appointed builder retains responsibility for construction execution, trades, technical direction, and site supervision. Design and technical questions go to the responsible professionals.

Transparency from the start.

The service is under the Meade Building umbrella. When another contractor is building, the relationship, reporting, and responsibilities are defined before work begins.

A good place to start

Your project deserves
a clear advocate.

If you have a complex home project and limited time to follow every detail, let’s talk about the support that would make a difference. The role and fee are agreed through Meade Building.

Until next time

Leave the island.
Stay connected.

When life takes you elsewhere, it helps to have someone here keeping your priorities in view.
